American Irish Chili Recipe

By RCPollitz

1 – 29 ounce cans of Tomato Sauce
1 – 12 ounce cans of Tomato paste
1 or 2– 29 ounce cans of Red Kidney beans (Optional)
1 or 2– 12 ounce cans of Pinto beans
1 – 12 ounce cans of red chili beans in sauce.
1 – 14 ounce can of Diced Tomatoes
1 – 7 ounce cans of mild Diced Green Chili
1 pounds of ground meat “beef, venison or buffalo (or meat substitute)
1 – 8 ounce bottle of Pace Picante sauce (Mild or Medium)
2 ounces of Worcestshire Sauce
1/2 – 5 ounce bottle of Heinz 57 sauce
1 ounce of Hickory Smoke flavoring
½ of a medium size onion chopped
Chili Powder and Garlic Powder (add to taste) I use a lot of chili powder and powdered garlic on the ground meat while it is cooking. I don't put a lot in the sauce, but I do put in some.
1. Mix all of the can goods and seasonings (not the meat )-in a large pot and cook over low heat.
2. Cook ground meat thoroughly in a separate pan. Season with Chili Powder and Garlic.
3. Add meat to the pot and bring to a slow simmer.
Takes about 30 to 45 minutes to prepare. Serves approximately 10 - 15 persons.
Cholula Hot sauce gives it a little kick that is more flavor than spicy. It can be added to the serving as desired.
